Designing and Delivering Green Energy

Designing and Delivering Green Energy

MPX partnered with a leading global metal mining company to project manage and develop an electrical design for a greenfield test facility to support the transition to green energy.

MPX partnered with a leading global metal mining company to project manage and develop an electrical design for a greenfield test facility to support the transition to green energy.

The Problem

MPX was engaged to work with our client’s Hydrogen Systems manufacturing engineering team to develop the electrical design for their greenfield Automation Testing System.

The mining company had secured approval to commence the production of large-scale electrolyser stacks. These electrolysers will generate green hydrogen by extracting it from demineralised water, serving both local and export markets.

Our scope involved developing an engineering design solution capable of conducting static and differential pressure tests at operating temperatures.

The Result

The MPX team collaborated closely with the client’s electrical engineering team to deliver all required electrical drawings, enabling the successful construction of the Automation Testing System. To meet the need for a rapid yet high-quality solution, we assembled a dedicated and flexible team that ensured seamless communication between all parties, maintained clear task prioritisation, and focused on efficient results delivery.

This collaborative approach facilitated the development of the initial Control System Single-Line Diagrams and Network Architecture Block Diagrams, securing design approval. Building on this foundation, we subsequently produced the General Arrangement, Termination Drawings, and Junction Box layouts, ensuring all deliverables were completed on time to meet the construction deadlines.

  • Certified electrical design services.

  • Provision of document management including submittals, receipts and coordination.

  • Facilitation and design review.

  • Electrical design, drafting and quality control.

Achievements

  • Delivered a transparent and predictable service with no unexpected issues.

  • Demonstrated flexibility by adapting delivery timelines to align with shifting priorities.

  • Operated independently, requiring limited oversight or guidance.

  • Maintained robust internal governance processes, ensuring minimal re-work.

The Problem

MPX was engaged to work with our client’s Hydrogen Systems manufacturing engineering team to develop the electrical design for their greenfield Automation Line Pre-Functional Testing System.

The mining company had secured approval to commence the production of large-scale electrolyser stacks. These electrolysers will generate green hydrogen by extracting it from demineralised water, serving both local and export markets.

Our scope involved developing an engineering design solution capable of conducting static and differential pressure tests at operating temperatures, ensuring each electrolyser can safely transition to the Functional Testing Station’s hydrogen system test facility.
